No pirate worth his salt buried his treasure in one place. A single chest in a single location was a single point of failure. Find the island, dig the spot, and the game was over. The clever ones tore the map into pieces and scattered them among trusted crew, each fragment useless without the others. PIECES_OF_EIGHT applies the same logic mathematically: your secret is fractured, distributed, and reconstructable only by those who hold enough of the pieces.

A secret known to one person is a vulnerability. A secret that requires five people to reconstruct is a fortress. PIECES_OF_EIGHT implements Shamir's Secret Sharing, a mathematically proven threshold cryptography scheme, as a strictly offline, air-gap-safe CLI utility. Your master keys, seed phrases, and coordinates are torn into as many shards as you define. Reconstruct requires the threshold you set. Everything below it reveals nothing.

■Shard authentication: HMAC-SHA256 integrity tag on each shard to detect tampering or corruption before reconstruction
